Stephen Tsai has practiced law in private firms since 1990, and currently heads his own two-lawyer office, focusing on the legal matters of businesses and business people, with a special interest in international business. Mr. Tsai is admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey and New York. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Mr. Tsai is the son of Taiwanese immigrants and speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Business & Institutional Clients. We have advised numerous companies on the legal complexities of doing business, particularly across international borders. Our practice spans the entire life of a business, from initial formation to final dissolution, and everything in between. We have worked with all types of companies in our business practice, including corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, limited liability companies, non-profit organizations, and trusts. We have drafted contracts, agreements and other documents necessary in the conduct of business. We have advised businesses on formation issues, contractual issues, financing issues, shareholder or partner issues, intellectual property issues, purchases and acquisitions, and bankruptcy or liquidation.

International Clients. Our transnational practice focuses on East Asia and the Pacific Rim, particularly the Chinese-speaking countries, as we are able to bridge the inherent communications and cultural gaps. We are called upon to represent the American interests of international clients and the overseas interests of American clients. We have assisted in such clients arranging joint ventures, distributorships, sales agencies and import-export financing. We have also assisted such clients in addressing matters such as cross-border litigation, business formation, import-export issues, immigration, intellectual property, real estate and regulatory affairs.

Individual & Family Clients. We also frequently handle personal matters for business people, including wills, trusts & estates, immigration & visas, and real estate.
